G'day mate! Hahahaha....that's what the Aussies usually say when they see you! Oh well, I really do admit of having some culture shock now....Phew....Oh well, will be describing what's my culture shock will be. Hahahhaa.....

Alright....will start from the moment I touched down in Tullamarine Airport. This airport is 20km away from Melbourne town. The weather was cooling at 11 degrees C. I enjoyed and rather loved the weather here though because I have always loved the weather here. The journey to my university was a 2 hours ride on the car taxi service that was provided free of charge from the University. Then, got into my room and started packing every single thing from my box and luggage (mind you, I have lots of things in my luggage and junks in my box...Hehehhe....). It started to rain....and it was extremely cold! BBBBrrrrrrrrr.........Even I could see my own breathe in the atmosphere! Hahahaha..... :P Then, hunger strikes. Ok, I walked down to the University to get some food. With the help of a useless map that they have given me, I managed to get myself into the Bistro area. However, it was duly closed. And....gosh, how mad I was. Without food in my stomache, plus tired and cold, I dragged myself back into my room. Head was already ringing...and I had to sleep. Though I switched on my heater, it was still cold, and I had to endure the coldness in my sleep. I think it was about 2 hours later that I woke up with a hungry stomache, growling and seriously making lots of noises! And I was quite sick at that time....Didn't know what to do, I went out to my kitchen and found my housemate cooking something very nice (it smelt nice at that moment.....was too hungry to bother what type of food he was cooking though.... ;p). He was nice to actually give me something to eat where I managed to cook 3 pieces of bread (French Toast) and honey. So, I dragged myself to bed after that and managed another 2 more hours. Woke up again, and I felt hungry again! But this time, I had to endure the hungriness for the day until the next morning! It sounded silly that I actually didn't walk to the nearest supermarket to buy groceries. But I was not familiar with the area that day, made me afraid to go to venture.

Fuh, what an experience I have to go through though.......

Bye Malaysia!

Today will be the last in Malaysia. Savouring the hot and humid weather. Tasting the last bite of home-cooked food (no wonder I have gained weight since 1 February). Enduring the last nap on my lovely bed. Hearing the last song from a Malaysian radio. Seeing the last sitcom of the Malaysian movies.

Time to wake up and step out from my comfort zone and get into reality. Once my friend told me this, "It's a perfect opportunity to prepare you for the life in general. Along with the responsibilities, you will also experience freedom and independence". May God bless him! I know I have been protected from my family shield for a very long time until I was too afraid to venture out from this barrier that my parents have created. This sounds silly, but is really what I am now. I know that by going out, a different set of challenges are ahead of me, and there will be so much to learn.....especially the new found independence and freedom. Here is like everything is provided for, I just need to open my mouth to ask, and there will be a spoon readily in mouth! But I am sure, this is gonna be another level in my life....sort of like a transition before my adulthood, that I need to learn how to be an adult. Hahaha.....so I am kinda like a kampung girl going out to the BIG CITY for the very first time! ;p

From time to time I will be posting pictures into my blog (since I have digital camera already, so downloading into my pc would be rather convenient). And I finally have the freedom to take annonymous pictures (pictures without people in it), which I so love to do it!

and there will be many stories to tell in the near future! Well, I am READY to take on any challenges ahead of me!

Bye and hope to see you around some time again in the near future!
Off
May

Lum Wan Feng

Who is Lum Wan Feng?

She is a good friend of mine who happened to celebrate her Birthday TODAY!!!!!! In her she has given me her friendship in everything. We talked for endless hours. We go out together to do crazy stuff (if skating was ever crazy enough). We were there for each other when we needed each other. And we were lab partners together....always bickering with each other...Hahaha.....these sweet moments will be cherished forever.

All I know is that I will greatly miss her much as her presence will make me smile and her laughter will make my day! May all of you have a prosperous NEW YEAR! ;)

Today is already the second day of Chinese New Year! Hehehe....I was suppose to write in yesterday, but my eyes were too glued to the idiotic box that I forgot to write in an entry yesterday. However, today is still Chinese new Year, is alright.

Anyway, Chinese New yEar is not as merry as it was when I was small. Is it only because of me or.....But I have never felt as excited as the CNY I had many, many years ago. Was it because of my elder sister who is away from home to another family of hers? Was it because the other 5 of us were too busy to prepare anything for the auspicious day? Was it because of me going to Oz? Or CNY has became more of an obligation to celebrate rather than knowing the reason of celebrating the day? I do not know.....I felt it was more of everything jumble up together and mixed up, too much of seasoning and ended up to be......JUNK? Hehehehe.....

But I had my time of my life this CNY. It was not the money or the ang pow part.....more of the eating part. Well, one thing is for sure that I would miss is my mom's cooking. So, I won't mind putting up a few pounds here and shed a few pounds over there. AND not forgettable my lOVELY COUSINS! There are such a cute-y lot! Well, I think this few year round would be the only time that I can play with them....Once they reach puberty, the mode of communication will change. Perhaps they would want to be treated like an adult. Hahaha....I think when they are have grown older, i would also play with them.....But a different type of play, more of teasing each other and sharing experiences and knowledge. ;)

Then again, I have to bid AUDIEU!

Worries

The past few weeks, I have been worrying about my voyage to Australia.

What and why has God sent me there? What are his plans for me there? Am sure he knows that I favour music a lot.....Does he include music in his plans?

Then, also about my future......

What am I going to do after my final year? To take a music degree in performance, as I have promised myself? Or to continue my honours? Will I be staying back in Australia for my Honours? Or should I take a 180 degrees turn to music? Shall I take only a music diploma? Then follow on to an Associate diploma and Licentiate diploma....and become a Fellowship in the AMEB?

Been giving me a headache recently. Plus....plus some other problems that has added onto my headaches. So, what am I going to do?

Well, I just give it all to God for I know his plans are far more greater than mine. And I am sure he has install some great plans for me to execute in the future! Hahaha....it has been two months since I have entered here to jot down my useless stuff, rumblings. Well, I have longed to blog in here, but I just don't have the time or rather being plain lazy. There many entries I want to write in here.....Unfortunately.

So, how am I during my two long months of absence? Well, many things have happened. Some were good and some were bad. Usual la...life wiill never be happy always. But the most prominent thing that has happened throughout the last two months were... WORKING!

Yeah, I was working for two months in PermuLab Sdn. Bhd. So, let me tell you a lil about my experience in this company.

In the first place, working life is not a nice thing at all! It's dull, extremely routine and it's boring (being me who likes to try new things). So I am like a dog kept in a cage....So caged up that I did not have freedom to move around. But as days go by, I realised that working life is not too bad after all (especially when you have a bunch of colleagues who are crazy people, talking about nonsensical stuff all the time!). It makes working much more enjoyable and less stressful. We would joke and laugh about silly things. But one thing I like about this bunch of colleagues is that they are humble people. They are not the type of people who are too extravagant and have 'big mouths' and etc. Very nice people. And eventually I enjoyed working here too after I found my purpose in this company. My purpose was to help people. So everyday, I try to help my closest colleague, Mala, to finish up as many samples that I can do.
To me honestly speaking, it was a great experience! I got a hands-on experience to feel the real-working life experience and the working laboratory environment. In Monash, I do not get many experiments to play with, and the media was limited, so it was pretty hard to play around. But in here, there was no time to play, but I had more time to digest whatever I had learnt in my textbooks. Really enhanced my learning skills as well too! I loved to go to the Microbiology Laboratory instead of the Hot Room in Food Department. I just do not know why I felt at ease working in there. And I had learnt a lot of new stuff in there, which I hope it will be useful in the future! Though I may hold some grudge over my supervisor, I have forgiven her. And only forgiveness can only solve matters. It's pointless to hold grudge so long....as I would only waste my time and breath!
On the last day of work, my boss has treated us with KFC and gave us each a tupperware! That was really kind of her to show her appreciation towards us! I think my boss was really happy with us. And I was happy too, as I know I have left a good and positive footprint in this company.
As for me, on a more personal note, I like to leave my footprints to everywhere I step in. I always hope to mark a positive footprint (though it may not be a big one, but a prominent and a steady footprint will suffice) in my friend's life. So, when one day I leave this world, I know I have touched many people's life in a good way, and I will also die more peacefully. But only deep down inside me, I just want everyone to be happy!
However, that's one more thing that I have learnt from the people in the company. Money is everything. Without money, no one can go further into education (I mean it in the positive way). There are a few colleagues who have to work because they have to earn a living for their family. Studying abroad is something out from their mind. And I know I am truly lucky for what my parents have provided me!

However, working life is so much different from studying life! So from now onwards, I will and shall appreciate my studying life! Because I can get to do much of my stuff and it's more enjoyable than working! Therefore, I need to enjoy my studying life before I start working again in the near future!

So what have I done on the 1st of Feb?
I did a most crazy thing in my life! After a movie (Bridget Jone's Diary) and a lunch, me and Gan didn't know what to do. We both didn't want to go back early to our homes, and he wanted to stay much longer in Pyramid, but we didn't know where to go! So, I had a crazy idea to go to Pyramid Tower. So, we practically roamed the first floor. We went from one corner to the other corner. Then we jumped to the most top floor and we went from one corner to the other corner. Then, later we still had time to kill....What we did was to hop onto Sunway Lagoon HOtel REsort! Guess what? Luckily we didn't hit the newspaper for mischievious behaviour. But the security guards were looking at us suspiciously....Hehehehe......BUt we came out safe and sound.

Sigh....what an eventful day I had. Firstly, I have been extremely busy with my trainee job at PremuLab and secondly, I am extremely preoccupied with application to australia and also teaching piano.

One year has just past by 'just like that' with a snap of finger. I couldn't even breathe or even pause to think about last year-the things that I have learnt throughout 2004. I was also sick...ehehehe...but manage to get myself well for today's get-together with my ex-schoolmates.

Many things that have past...I think I would rather not mention it....for the past is the past, should not be mentioned in the future. There were great times and down times too....But overall, 2004 was a great year! Though I may not have super achievements to celebrate, but the things that I have done and challenges that I have met, was well...a great achievement for me! 2004 has taught me many things. I think it rather taught me to be more mature....built me emotionally and mentally. The only thing that I will not forget that has happened on the 30 July 2004, was that I was saved by Him. He has graced me with His love and many at times embraced me with hope and faith in certain things that has happened. I think things happened for a reason...and those things that has happened in 2004, will hopefully be my teacher when I go to Australia.

This New Year...would be rather unique, as I don't have any New Year's Resolutions (as many people would have written down in their diaries). I think I shall not put myself into 'false hopes' hoping for good things to come, and in the end, when it did not happen, disappointment will come. And things could not be foresee in the future and unpredictable. For me, this New Year, would be a year that I would live by the day, live to forgive and forget, that good things and opportunities don't come too often and appreciate it when it comes, take easy on love....open up hearts and minds and smile more.... ') Sometimes promises we make to ourselves, would likely 99.9% fail to occur. For example, like 'I want to be a good girl!' Somehow, somewhere in the future.....Likely I would be in my mischieve mood again sooner or later. And tell me....how many people actually remember their New Year's Resolutions? By the middle of the year...The resolutions would be at the back of our minds.

So, this year, I will anticipate more things to come, and I am pretty excited of what Lord has installed for me....His plans. I think it would be a time where I have to practise what I preached. And am pretty sure that the challenges I face when I go to Down Under, will be a different sort of challenges but I will take it to my stride and hopefully things will turn out to be fine. Besides, smile and have fun! ;)

Happy New Year!

Australia.....HERE I COME!!!!!!

Yeah!!!!! I finally got my full offer to study in Australia. I got a phone call from Monash this morning, and it was really a suprised call for me in the morning! This call, which I have been waiting for ages finally came! I was pretty afraid that I could not get it, due to my results. BUt I have given all up to God's will. If he wants me to go to Australia, I will surely have my purpose there. If he wants me to stay, I am sure God has other plans for me! So, the decision of going to Australia, was really based on God's wish!
My wish has finally came true. And I could do my shopping before the Megasale is over. Besides, the more important stuff would be getting my visa and medical check up as soon as possible. Then, I will have to get ready my books....(which I was thinking of sending it over very much later!).
I am dearly happy of the news. But I know a greater responsibilities are ahead of me and also challenges which I have to take and meet in the future encounters. I hope with what I have gone through this year, will help me to 'survive' in the foreign country, though I know the future encounters would be a whole set of different experience. Which I know I may need different ways to solve a problem.
Till then....updated news...chiowz... ;)

May

Busy....Busy.....Busy.....

Examz are over....What's NEXT? HOLIDAYS!

Since I finished my examinations on the 9th of November 2004, my calender has been packed with agendas and events. Plus a few days here and there sick.....I think I have done and achieved much in a span of 21 days.

Starting on the 9th itself....I went out celebrating with Wan Feng, Michelle and Tim Nam for an "enjoyable" meal in Chicken Rice Shop.
On the 10th, I went out with my sister to Pyramid to watch The Terminal.
On the 20th, went to Kiara Hills for jungle trekking with my parents and sister.
On the 21st, went for a charity bowl in Bangsar Bowl and helped the PJ Metro Lions and later went to Kiara Hills for jungle trekking with my parents and sister.
On the 22nd, my dad's birthday, me and my sister baked him a chocolate cake (his favourite) and I went for my first professional interview (was great, it went on so smoothly and great successfully!)
On the 24th, went to the 1st ASEAN INTERNATIONAL CHOPIN COMPETITION, and watch the pianists played. Those who present were Michelle, Tim NAm, Wan Feng, Wai San, WInnie and Wen Li. I was so thrilled and inspired after watching the competition! There were good players from Indonesia and those players were at high standard!
Then, on the 25th, I went back to Monash University to watch two out-dated moview, which was Chocolat and The Pianist...both very inspiring movies which I have missed in 2003.
On the 26th, had music class. My teacher has read my proposal about having a music camp during my two months stay here in Malaysia. She thought it was a bit too ambitious...and had suggested something else....which has brought me into the idea of teaching kids age 3-4 years old! Interesting...will take up the challenge! Bought Maksim and Rachaminoff (my newest pianist admiration!)
On the 27th, I went to StemLife in Cyberjaya to see their laboratory and also explaining the importance of stem cells in the future research. Very interesting. Might consider going into this company in the future....MIGHT consider la....
On the 28th, went out with lunch with my family. Thought of my music brochure because wanted to sent it to my piano teacher.
On the 29th, going out lunch with my friend in Taylor's, or rather a shop opposite Taylor's and then seeing my friend to pass her some of my things. May print out some stuff.....and do some research, or may watch a movie!
on the 30th, staying home to bake a cake for my mum coz is her BIRTHDAY! :)
Then, on the 1st December, BACK TO WORK!!!! SObbb....Sobbbb!!!!!!

Till then, Sayonara!

Typical Work Week......

Interview

Today I had an interview with my future employer!

By the way, I am starting work in PremuLab from the first of December till the 31st of January 2005!This laboratory is basically a testing lab, where this company gathers samples mainly from the food factories and water samples from the environmental companies. Basically I had to do the tail end work of the chemists....like for example.....tests that are too routine or errors that are found and inaacurate results received, which will be our job to do and undo the mistakes done by their chemists. So, assistant to their chemists! HhhhhmmmMMmm...

Today is my daddy's birthday! Me and my sister baked a cake for him. Hahahaha....it was our first time doing this cake....and we always have to cross our fingers to make sure this cake is platable to eat! Hahahaa...it turned out to be fine.....and everyone in my family praised us for our efforts! Hahahaha......was really happy about it! By the way, the cake was Chocolate Mud Cake....Hmmmmmm....YUm....YuM....YUM!!!!! ;P

Time for me to sign off! These days, writing blog is not as exciting and appealing to me as before. Last time, I used to have constant flow of ideas and thoughts that I have to pen down before my memory shut down. And it was much easier for me to log on then.....faster and convenient. As I have put in my previous blog, I do not really like to log on using my home's jaring account. Fussy I maybe, I will stick to my decision. However, as I am pressed to log on using my jaring account to check essential stufff on the Internet, I HAD to use my home's Internet instead.

Now, I actually feel quite lazy to log in! My old blog, as I still have, still lingering around the webs, is very dysfunctional and I have a slightest idea of what has gone wrong to it. Instead, none of my postings were posted, and I had to abandoned my old blog for the new one!

And I really missed blogging. I have so many tales to write about and to shout about! Since my holidays are here, I can really spend full-time blogging. And I have not been blogging for months, since after my examz started!

And I really missed my old blog. Sigh, it was my fault though, I have added new features that has caused me an ache that my blog's archives has been disappeared. It was so customized by me, and I have every single features that I wanted in my blog. And I thought it could be forever! But how wrong I was..........There are many stories that I have written, my past experiences and mostly were my gibberish thoughts......And I have more than 70 stories. I thought I could have an aniversary for my blog.....it looks like....sigh....my dreams are vanished!

But nevermind, a new blog will signifies, new expriences and challenges that are ahead of me. Those stories that I have written in my old blog.....will remain as memories....very sweet ones! ;)

Right now, please excuse me for I want to design my new blog....as I have a sudden burst of creativity that I need to put forward onto my blog. Till then....Enjoy reading my blog!

Yours.....
May
